A Less Rigid Expression Express

I'm making some changes here at Expression Express now that fall has rolled around. If you are a regular, you'll know that I've set up a schedule of daily topics, which I have been trying to stick to now for over a year. It has been going pretty well, and it has helped to keep me organized to some degree. However, there have been times when I've had to deviate from this self imposed schedule due to my participation in other blog tours etc. Although I intend to keep the same basic themes in mind, I've decided to be less rigid in which days I post what. The only exception will by my Saturday 'Weeks Links' where I link to all the places I've been hosted online. I think it is a tidier and less obtrusive way of letting readers know where I've been and what I've been doing without bombarding them (YOU) with an announcement every time it happens.

I've read that solid content is what brings people back and builds a following. It's what I have been trying to do over the last year or so, and certainly, I have been learning what that means as much as anyone. You'll still find book reviews, interviews, and author spotlights. (Previously posted on Mondays as 'Reads, Reviews, and Interviews)

I'll still talk about book promotion, writing style, editing, and my experiences as a published author. (The Writing Life)

Occasionally I like to bring up issues that could be considered controversial, or just things that are worth talking about, (The Issue)

and as a creative I never get tired of sharing about the arts, theater, and inspiration in general. (Arts and Inspiration)

Of course, there still needs to be some place for promotion - of either my own work, or that of others - (Just Promoting) and all the links to where I've been in the blog-o-sphere over the past week. (Weeks Links)

Basically, things aren't changing that much. It will just be a less rigid schedule, allowing me to post content when it is relevant, not when it fits into a prescribed schedule. My plan is to post three times a week, minimum. Come back and visit next week and let me know what you think of the changes.

  1. It's always good to change things around everyone once in a while. You're an inspiration with all you do. Best of luck.

  2. Flexibility is a good thing with this sort of thing to begin with.

  3. I agree, William. Otherwise, I could get stuck in a rut!

  4. Tracy, I need to visit off. Your blog is so appealing. Now, what exactly do you mean by "solid content"? I'd like to hear more on that. Oh, by the way, you are most creative! We have similar dreams for our writing futures--I too am a full time high school teacher. Keep writing. Keep inspiring.

  5. Thanks rose. by 'solid content' I'm talking about something other than plugging yourself and your book all the time - advertising, if you will. While this has to happen, visitors will get tired of it and probably not stop by if all you're doing is announcing your next guest appearance on someone else's blog or continually crying 'BUY, BUY, BUY!"
