Astraea Press' - a fairly new publishing company which I now have the pleasure of working with. My fourth book WIND OVER MARSHDALE was recently contracted with Astraea after my agent, Steve Hutson, secured a book deal with them. In the short time since, I have been welcomed into the Astraea fold in a way I had not expected, having worked mostly with a larger publishing house with thousands of authors to its credit. Since Astraea is a small press, all the other represented authors seem to have a very tight knit and supportive group that has reached out with marketing ideas, writing tips, and just plain camaraderie. Owner Stephanie Taylor is right there with encouragement and is available to answer questions directly and personally. As well, the editing team is very professional and thorough, and believe me, they are putting me through the paces!
Here is a bit more about Astraea, taken directly from their website:
"Astraea was formed in 2010 when Stephanie Taylor saw the need for a
non-erotic e-publisher that offers wholesome reads but still maintains
the quality of mainstream romance. The first titles for Astraea were
launched in February 2011.
With over six years experience in the publishing
industry and an avid reader, owner Stephanie looks forward to working
with her authors, having fun, and bringing you the best books available.
Astraea is a royalty paying publisher, NOT a vanity press."
Although Astraea is an 'e-publisher' they also do print runs if sales dictate. After only being in business for a little over a year, they are making enormous strides forward and I am more than thrilled to be part of this growing and thriving group of creative people.
